White earthenware slipcast humidor (tobacco jar) with ‘majolica’ polychrome palette (under-glaze and over-glaze). In the form of a native American chieftain head with feather headdress. He is wearing a necklace with large round beads. The base has impressed numbers “7 07 6” and “53”.

Although the exact factory is not known, these wares are referred to as Austrian / Czech Majolica factory (MAJ) products. The Czechoslovakia products are slightly later c.1919+.
These highly ornate and colourful humidors are very appealing and therefore widely collected and sought after.

Condition Report:
The head has a micro fleabite nibble on rim.
The lid has a very small chip plus a larger chip on top edge of feathers. A shallow flake chip on end of headband. A small chip on outer rim of lid at back.
