A slipcast porcelain moneybox (coin bank) modelled as a pig running through a large drum. The pig has 8 ‘scratch’ marks modelled across it’s rump. The top of the drum has a percussion symbol on top decorated in gold and with a coin slot. The drum is chrome oxide green with brownish red borders. The pig has red highlights and black details over pink colouration. The body is porcelain (it transmits light). Almost certainly German porcelain.
This coin bank occurs in two sizes (3″ and 3.5″) and this is the rarer larger size. Both Stoddard and Huebner rate this as ‘D’ and both suggest a Shafer & Vater attribution, though there is no actual evidence for this.
