Earthenware majolica duck moneybox (coin bank). Austria.

Availability: In stock

White earthenware moneybox (or bank) in the form of a duck. Decorated with a ‘majolica’ palette of reddish brown, dark chrome green and bluish green. Slip cast. Flat unglazed base. There is a very feint raised moulded mark on foot of base “AUSTRIA” (though only the AU is clear).

An apparently almost identical example (which appears to lack the Austria mark), is shown in Huebner Vol.1, p.65, pl.274. Huebner classifies it as rarity¬† “C”.
