A bachelor size pearlware teapot with underglaze (under-glaze) blue painted ‘Chinese House’ design. The design includes a single storey building with a fence and trees, repeated on obverse and reverse sides. The body is cylindrical form. Extruded fluted handle. No foot. Shallow turned recessed base which is fully glazed. The plain spout has a basic hand-pierced 6 hole strainer in circular formation. The lid is pierced and has an upright flower finial.
English, probably Staffordshire.

Condition Report:
Lid: Lid rim has 3 small chips with 2 of them filled and painted. Small glaze nibbles on tip of finial and rim.
Body: Lip of spout poorly restored with filler and paint (but no over-spray). The rim has a small filled chip plus a tiny section of rim filled/restored. Tiny 10mm hairline from rim behind spout. Some crazing and discolouration (mainly on inside).
